The Group Architects – Bill Wilson, Bruce Rotherham, James Hackshaw, Allan Wild, Bret Penman, Ivan Juriss, Campbell Craig

Well documented practice formed at Auckland School of Architecture around 1946. In later months of 1949 Bret Penman’s father put up money to build a house (1st house as Group Construction) which received large amounts of publicity- (and sold) thereby allowing the practice to build another and garner further commissions. 27a Rutland St, (1951) Bruce Rotherham’s design for his family was another altogether unique construction.

Information and images will be added shortly. ‘The ‘Group Architects’ book contains further information and is available from Auckland University Press from the 15th October.
